On Monday I bought a Coach purse. It's a new style (patchwork tote) that just became available yesterday. I don't make a habit of monitoring these things (availability and release dates of designer products), as until recently I never even considered buying a Coach purse (too many $$). However, the style and fabric were just too beautiful to ignore and I knew I had to own this purse. So I bought it!
Here's where the story gets fun (fun for me, anyway) but we need to back-track a couple days. Saturday I was shopping with a girlfriend in Ann Arbor and became aware of the newly arriving Coach lines. I fell for the patchwork fabric immediately, but didn't see the purse style I wanted (found out later it wouldn't officially hit the shelves for another two days). Alas, it appeared I would have to leave the mall Coach-less. Usually this is no tragedy, but I really had my heart set on getting that purse.
However, in our Briarwood-wide search for the specific purse/fabric combo, another Coach purse caught my eye (straw with large brightly embroidered flowers and bees). So, on Saturday I ended up buying the flowers/bees purse which had really grown on me throughout the day. Trust me, it's really cute and definitely was worth picking up - my weak description doesn't do it justice. Partly also as a consolation to soothe myself after not being able to leave with the purse of my dreams. Oh, and since I so admired the patchwork fabric, I treated myself further by grabbing a wallet while I was buying.
Which brings us to Monday. The new line was available on the shelves at Coach. The patchwork tote was just calling my name and I was helpless to resist. So I ran out on my lunch hour to pick it up!
Definitely a fun couple of days! But now let's do the math. Not the $$ math, that's too scary, just the items:
one Coach purse + one Coach wallet + one Coach purse = one very happy Me + one less than thrilled Husband
Tony really doesn't seem to be NEARLY as excited about this Coach spree as I am. He has placed me on punishment - I'm not allowed to buy another purse until 2011. But apparently I will be up for parole sometime in 2009.
